Email Marketing
I started my Email Marketing journey with a free version of MailChimp to connect with guests of the Days Inn Hotel and Heroes Bar & Grill in 2013 as well as create an employee newsletter. When I moved to Pheasant Run Resort, we used hotel email marketing software including TravelClick and Revinate. With these programs I was able to use segmentation to better target messages to those who were most likely interested in what we had to share. It was during this time that GDPR came about and we learned how to market within the new industry standards.
As an Area Marketing Manager I utilized several email programs for multiple hotels and restaurants including bringing back a paid subscription to MailChimp for hotel restaurants. During my years in hospitality I was the creative force behind our email campaigns, content, design, and scheduling. I currently am able to send out emails for my Pampered Chef business as an Independent Consultant where I can create content, but don’t have as much control over the design.
In 2022, I set up MailChimp accounts for The Station to help them develop a relationship with their new customers and build a community through weekly newsletters. I also set up a MailChimp account for Serendipity Gifts, Crafts, & More so they would be able to collect potential vendor information as well as begin to build a customer database.
Since 2023 at Blue Harbor Resort I have used Ongage to connect with our database of over 100,000 subscribers. With fewer segmentation options available in this program, I need to work harder to match guests with appropriate content.
